An Australian family company continuously owned and operated since 1880, it’s been a long and interesting voyage for EHBrett.
Starting out in a rowing boat in Newcastle and Sydney, the young founder, Edwin Henry Brett would ferry sails back and forth to his sail loft where in Sydney, on the Balmain peninsula, his daughter Beatrice Alice would help in the making and repair of huge canvas sails.
Since those days, EHBrett grew in size being housed in three factories in Balmain covering 6,000 square metres before eventually relocating; initially to Silverwater and then Moorebank in Sydney’s south-west. With the addition of a Melbourne operation in 2000, the business has continued to grow and offer a wide range of industrial products and related services utilising the latest in fabric design and CAD technology.
From tarpaulins & covers of all sizes; to shade sails, structures, blinds and awnings; to helibanners and enormous on field display banners and marquees; to bags and covers of all shapes and sizes; and transport covers including tarpaulins, side curtains and canopies for general and defence purposes. Here at EHBrett, we also offer contract services in the area of CAD, plotter cutting and other sewing, welding and general fabricating.
The Brett’s Hire operation was commenced in 1956 and now offers the largest range and stock in Australia of sturdy hire tarpaulins for use in a variety of ways; not the least for rapid response to severe storm events. At Brett’s Hire, we can get over 200 tarpaulins to you at short notice, all roped and ready to install to provide protection for your home or business.
All this is made possible with a combined industry experience of our team at EHBrett, of in excess of 200 years. This youthful and motivated team is committed to ensuring EHBrett & Sons continues Covering Australia for many years to come!
